Unable to log on

When FactoryTalk ViewPoint security is enabled, you are required to log on to open FactoryTalk ViewPoint Administration or connect to a web application. If you cannot log on, consider the following potential causes and remedies.

Incorrect user name or password

FactoryTalk ViewPoint uses FactoryTalk Security services to authenticate and authorize users. If security is enabled, you have to log on using your FactoryTalk user or Windows-linked user account credentials.

  • To check your credentials or learn how to change your password, contact your FactoryTalk System Administrator.

FactoryTalk user account disabled

You might not be able to log on because your FactoryTalk user account has expired or was disabled.

  • To check the status of your account, contact your FactoryTalk System Administrator.

FactoryTalk user account not assigned to a FactoryTalk ViewPoint user group

If you do not belong to the appropriate ViewPoint user group, you will not be able to use your FactoryTalk user name and password to open FactoryTalk ViewPoint Administration or a published web application.

To open FactoryTalk ViewPoint Administration, your user must belong to one of the User Groups that has been granted access to FactoryTalk ViewPoint Administration. To open a web application, your user must belong to one of the User Groups that has been granted access to the application.
